Writing

I’m so glad you’re here!

This is where we meet up with our favorite cup of coffee or tea and together, be inspired by stories of hope & healing and have our spiritual cups filled with God's Truth.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:3-5

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Psalm 46:1;5

God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble…God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Hi, I’m Tricia

Writing was never in my plans and honestly, it wasn’t something I ever thought about. When I glimpse in the rear view mirror I find myself considering if writing was in me all along and God was just patiently waiting for me to pick up a pen. Or maybe writing was a new seed created from my broken pieces; a seed God planted in new soil, watered by His Living Word and allowed it to bloom into something that would bring Him glory. Either way, I’m so grateful He’s called me to write!

In 2017, my then teenage son was battling addiction and spent a good portion of that year in a treatment facility. Addiction affects more than the addicted and my family of five plunged into a season of long suffering. I was overwhelmed, filled with anxiety and desperately trying to find a way to sort out the feelings and emotions building up inside of me.

It was during this time that God helped me find a way to pour out my heart in a way I had never done before - through the gift of a prayer journal.

June 30, 2017

Today I was given this journal by a friend. Last night while I was trying to sleep, I kept thinking - I need a journal. Something to write about how God is working in my life, my husband’s life and my children’s lives. A way to write my way through heartache - overcoming the trials - but also highlighting all the positive things happening. My friend giving me this journal is a total God thing! He must have known I would not go out and buy one right away - so He put it on my friend’s heart to do that for me. God is good - all the time.”

That day, I returned to work from lunch to find a card and a journal on my desk. The top of the journal is inscribed with a portion of Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you”. The card she gave me offered the comfort of friendship with Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. On the inside of the card, my friend had written words that poured into my empty cup: “God has a plan for your family - hang in there!”

What began as prayer journaling has become so much more. The Author of my life has given me the opportunity to write for Him and as I do, uplift others in His name.

As you read blog posts and stories here, may you be encouraged to receive God's comfort, experience His peace, and be emboldened to share your own story with others.
